Frequently Asked Questions About Renting a Charter Bus
We understand that renting a charter bus for the first time may come with quite a few questions. To help guide you through the process, we’ve compiled some of our most-asked questions about charter bus rentals! If you don’t see your question answered below, you can always give one of our rental experts a call 24/7 at 1-866-217-2168.
The charter bus rental process starts with getting a free quote from one of our rental team members by calling 1-866-217-2168. A Falcon Charter Bus rep will generate a personalized quote based on your trip details. You’ll need to have your trip details on hand like dates, times, passenger count, and an itinerary.
Group travel often increases around big holidays and in the spring/summer season. If your trip will be in these peak travel periods, you should call to book your bus at least 6 months in advance. Groups traveling outside of peak season should request a rental around 3 months in advance.
There is a 5-hour rental minimum for every trip. We can also service long-term and recurring trips.
The cost of each trip varies depending on many factors, including when you’re traveling, where you’re traveling, the duration of your trip, the type of bus you rent, and the size of your group. The only way to get an accurate idea of your rental price is by calling us and talking with a rental expert about your trip details.
To secure your bus, you’ll need to provide a 30% deposit. Your full balance will need to be paid 30 days before the start of your trip.
Your quote will include the hourly or daily cost of your bus rental and pay for your driver. Your quote will not include parking, tolls, or tipping and accommodating for your charter bus driver.
Eating and drinking are allowed on buses but please make sure your group removes any trash from onboard. If trash or a mess is made on the bus, a cleaning fee of up to $250 may be charged at the end of your trip.
Smoking of any kind is not allowed aboard your bus rental. Drinking alcohol may be allowed on certain buses, depending on the transportation partner you’re paired with. Notify your rental expert that you plan to drink on board at the time of renting your bus.
The vehicles in the Falcon Charter Bus fleet network include various models of minibuses and charter buses. Minibuses are best suited for groups with 18 passengers to 25 passengers. Full-size models of charter bus rentals are spacious and perfect for large groups of up to 56 passengers.
Our network includes ADA-accessible vehicles with features like wheelchair lifts and additional handrailing. When you call to book your bus, let your rental expert know the accessible features you’ll need onboard.
Minibuses and charter buses can both be equipped with a variety of modern amenities. These features can include WiFi, leather reclining seats, power outlets, USB ports, personal climate controls, flat-screen TVs, and onboard restrooms. Keep in mind that minibuses do not have onboard restrooms, so you’ll want a full-size charter bus rental for long-distance trips. Just notify your rental expert about what features you’ll need for your trip. We’ll do our best to ensure you get every amenity you need for the most comfortable trip possible.
Even if you have a valid CDL license, you will not be allowed to drive your bus rental. Only your assigned driver will be allowed to operate your charter bus.
Tipping is not required but it’s always greatly appreciated. Your charter bus driver dedicates their time to keeping your group comfortable and safe throughout your trip. Showing them your appreciation with a 10-20% tip is highly recommended.
Groups taking overnight trips will need to book a hotel room for their charter bus driver. By law, all bus drivers must rest for 8 hours after 10 hours of on-duty work or driving. We recommend reserving your driver at least a 3-star hotel to ensure they are well-rested for your trip.
